DOST unveils mobile app for National S&T Week 2023 celebration
To promote the power of technology and embrace digitalization, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) unveiled its official mobile application for the 2023 National Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (NSTW) celebration in Iloilo City from Nov. 22 to 26.

The DOST said its Iloilo regional cluster developed the app to enhance the NSTW experience of attendees and organizers, while adopting digital transformation.
The department also said it "promotes digital platforms to reduce waste during the event's conduct."
DOST highlighted that the app includes features for guest registration event information and schedules, activity pre-registration, event notifications, attendance tracking, interactive games, customer feedback forms, and exhibit material downloads.
In addition, the app includes a copy of the "Explore Iloilo" guide, providing guests with insights into the city's rich cultural heritage, delectable cuisine, and captivating attractions.
The DOST launched the mobile application last Nov. 8 to prepare for NSTW week.
With the DOST breaking the norm, this year's National Science and Technology Week, the DOST Iloilo region will host the event for the first time.
Moreover, the emphasis will be on environmental and marine protection, aquatic and natural resources, and how innovative solutions can address the challenges faced by different sectors and regions in the country.
