SANTA ROSA CITY, Laguna – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) led by Chairman George Erwin Garcia held the ceremonial send-off and began deploying the official ballots and accountable forms for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections on Wednesday night, October 4.
Garcia witnessed the send-off along with Comelec Commissioners Socorro B. Inting, Marlon S. Casquejo, Aimee P. Ferolino, Rey E. Bulay, Ernesto Ferdinand P. Maceda Jr., and Nelson J. Celis at the Comelec warehouse in Pulong Santa Cruz, this city.
Ferolino is the commissioner-in-charge of the Packing and Shipping Committee while Bulay is the commissioner-in-charge of the BSKE.
John Rex Laudiangco, Comelec spokesperson, the event was witnessed by the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting, National Movement for Free Elections, and Legal Network for Truthful Elections.
Container trucks holding the ballots were deployed initially bound for air and sea ports, then onwards to city and municipal treasurers’ offices.
“First to be deployed are the OBs and accountable forms of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and Caraga (Region 13),” the Comelec said.
