G-Dragon to fully cooperate with police's drug probe; undergo hair, urine tests to clear his name
K-pop group Big Bang’s G-Dragon (real name Kwon Ji-yong) has made it clear that he will fully cooperate with the police regarding their investigation about his alleged drug use.
The police booked G-Dragon on suspicion of drug use. As a result, the Ministry of Justice imposed a travel ban on G-Dragon and actor Lee Sun-kyun that bars them from leaving South Korea.

G-Dragon’s legal counsel, Kim Soo-hyun of the law firm K-1 Chamber, issued a statement on Oct. 30 reiterating that the singer has never taken any drugs.
“As we have already made clear, Kwon Ji-yong [G-Dragon] has never taken drugs,” the lawyer said.
She added, “In relation to this, Kwon Ji-Yong appointed a lawyer this morning and submitted a letter of intent to appear voluntarily along with the appointment to the drug crime investigation unit of the Incheon Police Agency Metropolitan Investigation Unit.”
G-Dragon vowed to fully cooperate including undergoing hair and urine tests to prove his innocence.
“Mr. Kwon Ji-yong strongly expressed his intention to voluntarily appear and actively cooperate with the investigation through his letter of intent to appear voluntarily and his lawyer's opinion, and voluntarily submitted all materials necessary for the investigation in order to quickly resolve the injustice by quickly uncovering the substantive truth through rapid investigation,” the lawyer said.
The lawyer added, “We have informed the police that we will actively participate in hair and urine tests, and are currently coordinating a schedule for voluntary attendance.”
“In relation to this case, speculative false reports and YouTube videos have been coming out indiscriminately, such as the recent appointment of a lawyer who was a former Constitutional Court judge and the payment of a large amount of fees. We will take extreme action against damage,” she said.
