Drastic drop in Marcos' approval rating a manifestation of people's 'growing discontent' --- GABRIELA
Women alliance GABRIELA said on Tuesday, Oct. 3 that the decline in the approval ratings of President Marcos based on the result of a survey is a manifestation of the public's “discontent and condemnation” towards his administration.

In Pulse Asia's national survey conducted from Sept. 10 to 14 which involved 1,200 adults aged 18 and above, President Marcos suffered a significant drop in his approval ratings of 80 to 65 percent from June to September 2023.

For GABRIELA, this deterioration echoed a message from the masses. “This drastic drop in approval ratings is not merely a statistical occurrence but a resounding message from the Filipino people,” GABRIELA said.
The group added that it also manifests the “growing discontent” with the Marcos-Duterte tandem which has allegedly been involved in “anomalies of squandering of public funds through billions of confidential funds” revealed during the 2024 budget deliberations in the House of Representatives.
Related to this, GABRIELA underscored the need for the government to augment the demands for a national living wage, provision of regular and decent jobs, and ensuring low prices of food, oil, and other basic commodities. (Lizst Torres Abello)
