Manila LGU issues traffic advisory for Undas


The city government of Manila issued a traffic advisory for the upcoming road closures, reroutes, and parking areas in preparation for Undas at Manila North Cemetery (MNC).

The city announced that the following roads will be closed to vehicles starting at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31:

  • Stretch of Aurora Boulevard (from Dimasalang Road to Rizal Avenue)
  • Stretch of Dimasalang Road (from Makiling Street to Blumentritt Road)
  • Stretch of Pedro Guevarra Street (from Cavite Street to Aurora Boulevard)
  • Stretch of Blumentritt Road (from Andres Bonifacio to P. Guevarra Street)
  • Stretch of Retiro Street (from Dimasalang Road to Blumentritt Road)
  • and stretch of Maceda Street (from Makiling Street to Dimasalang Road)


It advised the motorists to take the following alternative routes:

For La Loma and Chinese Cemeteries, take the stretch of Rizal Avenue and Jose Abad Santos as your points of entrance and exit (and vice versa).

All vehicles coming from Rizal Avenue intending to utilize Blumentritt Road shall continue straight on Rizal Avenue to the point of destination.

All trailer trucks and heavy vehicles coming from Arsenio H. Lacson Avenue intending to utilize Dimasalang Road shall go straight to Yuseco Street to the point of destination.

All vehicles coming from Dimasalang Road intending to utilize Blumentritt Road shall turn right in Makiling Street, then straight to Blumentritt Extension to the point of destination.

It also provided the following parking areas for visitors in nearby cemeteries:

  • Pedro Guevarra Street (from Blumentritt Road to Aurora Boulevard)
  • Feliz Huertas Street (from Blumentritt Road to Aurora Boulevard)
  • Oroquieta Street (from Blumentritt Road to Aurora Boulevard)
  • and Simoun Street (from Dimasalang Road to Mayon Street)

Meanwhile, the MNC already announced on Oct. 11 the guidelines and important reminders for visitors inside the cemetery, including prohibiting alcoholic beverages and flammable materials, that will be implemented from Oct. 26 to Nov. 2.
