Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecutors will be on duty in every town, city, and province nationwide during the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) on Monday, Oct. 30.
Remulla said that prosecutors serve as chairpersons of the Commission on Elections' (Comelec) board of canvassers (BOC) in local government units. "Kaya naka-duty po sila sa eleksyon (Thus, they are on duty during the elections)," he said.
Also, he said that the DOJ signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Comelec "na magtutulungan nga sa araw ng eleksyon at lahat ng bagay na pwede mangyari (to help each other on what would happen during election day."
“May katungkulan kaming tingnan ang sitwasyon ‘pag ganun (We have the duty to look at the situation),” he stressed.
He assured: “Naka standby po lahat ng ating piskal (All prosecutors will be on standby)."
Earlier, the DOJ and the Comelec also signed a MOA to help each other in the "Kontra Bigay” project to fight against vote buying and selling.
