For the first time since it came into being in 2009, the unveiling of the World's 50 Best Bars, the definitive annual list of the best of the best of the international drinks industry, is held this year outside of Europe.

The list for 2023, the 15th edition, has been revealed at a ceremony held early tonight, Oct. 17, in Singapore, at a heritage site Pasir Panjang power station built in the early 50s, which has been converted into a mixed-use entertainment space.

Hosted by Swiss-Filipino Nikki Muller, the World's 50 Best Bars 2023 ceremony gathered all the hotshots in the industry across the world, many of whom, from London's The Connaught to Sydney's Maybe Sammy to Mexico City's Rayo and Miami's Latova, have been doing guest shifts and takeovers since the weekend at equally hotshot bars in Singapore like Manhattan at the Conrad, Republic, Native, and Nutmeg & Clove.

Over 650 connoisseurs from around the world made the 2023 ranking, voting confidentially based on criteria that took into consideration the varying pandemic-related travel restrictions still in place in some countries.

On top of the World's Best Bars 2023 is Sips in Barcelona, followed by Double Chicken Please in New York. No. 3 on the list is Connaught Bar in London, No. 4 Paradiso in Barcelona, and on the fifth slot is Handshake Speakeasy in Mexico City.

The One to Watch is Lady Bee in Lima.

Legend of the List, also on 47th slot this year, is The Clumsies in Athens.

The Best Bar in the Middle East and Africa, also on the 40th, is Mimi Kakushi in Dubai.

Best Bar Design has been awarded to Night Hawk in Singapore.

The Sustainable Bar Award was received by Röda Huset in Stockholm, also 31st on this year's list.

The American Bar Gleneagles in Auchterarder received the award for Best Cocktail Menu.

Best Bar in Australasia is Maybe Sammy in Sydney, also 15th on the list.

Best Bar in Asia and on the 13th spot on the World's Best Bars 2023 list is BKK Social Club in Bangkok.

Tres Monos in Buenos Aires received the Art of Hospitality award.
