This talented 2-year-old captured the hearts of netizens with her adorable portrayal of various idols, including popular TV characters and fashionable runway ensembles.
Her charming mini-me versions brought joy and delight to social media feeds that even Asia's superstar, Kathryn Bernardo, took to her Instagram on Wednesday, Oct. 11, to express her amazement and excitement upon discovering her own minimi.
"I surrender! I think she did it better! I hope to meet you soon, baby Eunice!" Kathryn posted on her Instagram account.
Following its viral success, Manila Bulletin Lifestyle reached out to this mommy-daughter duo through their official Facebook page.
Rochelle Mae Santiago, a 26-year-old business owner and content creator, revealed that she and Eunice began vlogging in October of last year. She added that Eunice's portrayal of iconic characters from Mars Ravelo's Darna was the first to gain significant attention.
She also shared that creating costumes for daughter Eunice was their ultimate bonding. "This is one of our special bonds that spans years filled with joy and love, as we create amazing things together with my daughter. Isa na rin kasi talaga ito sa naging bonding namin that always remains in our hearts and memories forever," she said.
We asked Rochelle about the number of hours she spent creating costumes and the cost involved in making Kathryn's costumes. "Creating Eunice's outfit usually takes three to five hours, but the time can vary depending on the type of costume being made. Hindi naman po siya aabot ng isang araw."
Rochelle mentioned that she utilizes old clothes to create Kathryn's iconic outfit and only spends 35 pesos to purchase the diamond sticker. Mommy Rochelle admitted that the reason why they chose to recreate Kathryn's outfit. She says, "I chose Kathryn this time because I have idolized her ever since she joined Going Bulilit. I am very proud of her for taking on the leading role in ‘A Very Good Girl’ film."
"Noong nabalitaan kung nakakuha siya ng award sa Korea, mas lalo akong naging proud sa kanya. Kaya ginaya ko ang damit na suot niya sa awarding sa Seoul at kinuhanan ko si Indai bilang kanyang mini-me. Para kahit 'di man namin siya makita personally, at least na-iparamdam namin sa kanya na sobrang humahanga kami sa kanya by doing the DIY of her outfit," she added.
Rochelle emphasizes the importance of parents spending quality time with their kids, engaging in activities like creating outfits, watching TV, playing with their favorite toys, and more. She also informs parents that she believes they can create what they're doing.
"As a mother and content creator, I want to help people, especially parents, who wish to have their very own photo shoot of their baby. I provide them with ideas on how to create or make an outfit, na hindi naman kailangan pang gumastos ng malaki. Kasi kung meron ka naman mga tambak na damit or mga hindi mo na nasusuot. Pwede mo siya i-recreate.”
