A man, who threatened a woman that he would release her nude pictures and sex videos if she would not have sex with him, was arrested in Las Pinas City by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
In a statement, the NBI identified the "sextortionist" as Oliver Soriano Torres who was arrested at his residence last Oct. 8 by agents of the bureau’s Anti-Organized and Transnational Crime Division (NBI-AOTCD).
After his arrest, Torres was presented before the Las Pinas City Prosecutor's Office and charged with grave coercion under Article 282 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC); violation of Republic Act (RA) No. 9995, the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009; violation of RA 9262, the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004, all in relation to RA 10175 , the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, and rape by sexual assault under Article 266-A(2) of the RPC.
The NBI said its agents recovered from Torres one laptop, three cellular telephones, and a company identification card.
It said it acted on a complaint by a female victim who claimed that "Torres threatened to upload and spread her sex videos and nude photos if she would disagree to meet him."
It also said that "Torres continuously threatened the complainant and ordered her to meet him at his apartment in Las Piñas City on Oct. 8, 2023."
The complainant then sought the help of the NBI-AOTCD which arranged an entrapment operation, it added.
