Here’s a timely lesson to actors accepting endorsement deals.

Ricardo Cepeda had to face detainment after a company he signed up with as a brand ambassador got into financial trouble over bouncing checks.

Angry investors sued the company, including Richard Cepeda Go (the veteran actor’s legal name), as he appeared to be the face of the beleaguered firm.

Ricardo’s stepson, Joshua de Seguera, quickly posted an appeal on Facebook, saying that his dad had been wrongfully accused.

“It's absolutely heartbreaking that this is happening. My dad is an innocent and loving man.”

Joshua also stated that Ricardo’s name doesn’t appear in the legal papers of said company.
