Fluss said this after his meeting with Marcos in Malacañan on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 11, where the latter expressed support for Israel's fight against the armed organization.

In a Facebook post, the envoy thanked Marcos for meeting him and committing to support Israel.

"Thank you, President Marcos, for the important meeting we had earlier today. Israel is in a war situation due to the horrific attack of the terror organization Hamas," he wrote.

"I want to thank you for your commitment that the Philippines will always stand with Israel against the inhuman terrorist attacks by Hamas," he added.

With this, Fluss assured Marcos that Israel would do everything to get Filipinos to safety amid the ongoing war.

"Israel is committed [to] the safety and well-being of the Filipino citizens in Israel," he said.

"We will do everything we can to get them out of danger, as we do for our own citizens," he added.

According to the Israeli envoy, the Philippines and Israel are bound for an even closer partnership.

"We have a long history of friendship. We have a future of even closer partnership and collaboration," he said.

On Wednesday, President Marcos said the Philippines is supporting Israel in quelling the "inhuman terrorist attacks" by the militant group Hamas, as he thanked Israeli forces for bringing Filipinos to safety amid the ongoing war.

During his meeting with Fluss, the President expressed concern for the three unaccounted-for Filipinos in Israel. Still, he thanked Israel for rescuing over 20 Filipinos and bringing them to safety.

In response, the Israeli ambassador assured Marcos that Israel is doing all it can to ensure the safety of Filipinos.

With this, President Marcos told Fluss that the Philippines "will always stand with Israel in this war against the inhuman terrorist attacks by Hamas."

As of Wednesday afternoon, two Filipinos were confirmed dead in the ongoing war that started with Hamas' surprising land and air attacks against Israel on Sunday, Oct. 7.
