BI's body cameras for use in airports will have 'live streaming feature' for monitoring
The body-worn cameras which the Bureau of Immigration (BI) will procure for use by immigration officers at the airports will have a live streaming feature for effective monitoring.
“Meron po live streaming feature para namomonitor (There is live streaming feature for monitoring) by the Office of the Commissioner what’s actually happening on the ground," said BI Spokesperson Dana Mengote-Sandoval during an interview on PTV’s Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon public forum.
Sandoval said everything recorded on the body cameras "can be used in investigatin."
“Maiiwasan po natin ang complaints about illegal actions, halimbawa, ng mga employees o kaya naman po ‘yung hindi mabuting pakikitungo ng ating mga empleyado (We can avoid complaints about illegal actions, for example, like those committed by employees or incidents of bad interactions with the public),” she said.
She said the body cameras are now on procurement process. "We are hoping po by the end of the year magagamit na po ito at madedeploy po ito sa ating mga tauhan (We hope we can use it by the end of the year and deployed to our personnel),” she also said.
