WTFu by MR. FU: The art of thanksgiving

Fu with Artfinity artists Calvin Vargas, Andrei Solmirano and Valerie Teng

Singing has been part of Andrei Solmirano’s life. She has performed in countless gigs and collaborated with many musicians. (minsan all-around. naghohost, sumasayaw, tumulay sa alabre and all!) She would really give time to events even if she had to accomplish reports in her corporate job. (raketera ang ate mo gurl!) But in 2020, she felt that she needed to revive her enthusiasm in producing art pieces (parang tinatawag daw sya nung mga brush at paint!)

She got exposed to art when she was 10 years old. (samantalang ako kung saan saan nagkaroon ng exposure!) She would read art books and experiment on art materials. (kebs sya makipaglaro sa kapitbahay!) Making artworks became her hobby, after school and during weekends. (walang sinasayang na oras si ate mo!) Her favorite place to do her art was at her grandmother’s garden. (baka nandun sina Adam at Eve! Chos!) She has produced pieces that reflect nature. She also made portraits and abstract art. (pa-henya si ateng!)

Andrei Solmirano

Andrei recently opened her very first solo art exhibit (with matching singers and performers ha!) at the Artablado Robinsons Galleria titled "Yadah to the King through Art and Music." (basta ako ang Queen ha!)

“Yadah is taken from the Hebrew word for hand, or yad, which means, to throw, extend or lift hands in thanksgiving and praise. “ Andrei explains. (bet ko yang mga Hebrew ‘day!)

The exhibit which runs until Jan. 31 features her masterpieces that celebrate God’s love, power and miracles. “This is a surprise blessing for 2023. Amazing! It is an answered prayer. It is a testament to Artablado as a supportive platform for new artists like me. It feels like home.“ (ako naman new sexy star!)

Andrei is a member of Artfinity, a group of up and coming visual artists who promote love and appreciation for art. (ay member ako nyan’ day!)

“Let my art cause you to dream and hope. Art should spark joy, faith and inspiration.” Andrei says. (go gurl! E yung art ko kaya nakakainspire?!)
