WTFu by MR. FU: 'Good Vibes' from Radyo5

Days after I announced on social media that I’m taking a break from my radio career after 15 years of being on air, (muni-muni raw muna o?!), I received a message from Menchie Tabije of TV5’s Radyo5. She was inviting me to guest in one of their new shows, Good Vibes hosted by Laila Chikadora and Stanley Chi. (guesting lang ha, di offer!) I immediately said yes because Radyo5 has been asking me to guest on their shows but since I had a contract with my radio show, it was impossible for me to appear on another FM station (pero pwede na di ba Ms. Cherry Bayle?!)

I have worked with Menchie. She was my executive producer for my digital show Roleta ng FUrtune on ABS-CBN Digital years ago. She is definitely one of the best producers I have worked with. (na pinagbitbit ako ng bonggang roleta sa kalsada habang naghohost ha!) Laila is also a colleague. We were radio jocks for 103.5 WOW FM and during that time, I made her my daily alarm clock. Imagine requesting her to ring my phone every 530 am! (walang mintis nya yun ginawa!) She was handling the 5 am-8 am slot, and I was doing the 8 am-11 am show. (back to backla!) I will not also forget her gesture of lending me her prayer booklet when my dad was in the ICU. (pang MMK ito!) Stanley, on the other hand, doesn’t have any story with me, since we never had the chance to work together. (pero wala naman kaming issue! Kaya ifriend ko sya kasi mukhang rich kid!)

We never ran out of stories while we were waiting to air. (wala na ngang masyadong briefing kakakoda ko! well, sanay naman mga taga-radyo sa ganyan!) Their show airs Mondays to Fridays, 630 pm - 8 pm. They have several segments that include, interaction with their listeners and viewers, trivia features, special stories and playing of songs every now and then. But since their show is all about good vibes, they invite guests who can share inspiring stories on air and online. (so bakit ako ang nainvite?!) They really wanted me to share my experiences as a visual artist and owner of FUk gallery that helps up and coming artists. (kunwari may relevance ako ganyan!) But we didn’t have the chance to discuss it because the three of us were in high spirits in sharing hilarious stories and situations.(so, parang nabanggit lang ng konti art art! at nag feeling cohost nako!)

One of the intriguing questions they raised was if I will be retiring from radio. My quick reply was: “Kung wala nang kukuha sakin, malamang mag retire na nga ako!” (sabay joke na baka pwede akong umakyat sa 10TH floor para makipag meeting sa mga bossing!)
