The popular actor-director left it at that, making sure that his personal life doesn’t figure in his public life.
He added, however, that he’s started building a new house for his own family, the Rite One, located within the same sprawling compound in Quezon City where he has built a mansion for his Lola, brothers and sisters and their families.
Coco was his usual loquacious self when he faced media Jan. 23 as the new brand ambassador of RiteMed, following Susan Roces.
Coco said he considered landing the RiteMed gig as a gift from his Tita Susan, who played his Lola Flora for 7 long years in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. He was profuse with gratitude to Ms. Roces, whom he looked up to as a grandmother.
He said that after hearing the many good things Susan and her husband, FPJ, did for their co-workers and the industry as a whole, he was inspired furthermore to do his share in helping those in need. “Kaya siguro hindi ako nagka-Covid. Alam ng Diyos na maraming umaasa sa akin,” he said.

“Lockdown” star Paolo Gumabao may be landing wholesome roles in wholesome pictures, but he won’t ever say no to sexy movies if the right offers come along.
“I consider myself an actor, not a celebrity or a star. Doing sexy roles, including undressing before the camera, is just a part of my work as an actor,” he says. Paolo considers it such good luck that his first trip to Europe in February shall be to Prague, and it shall be for work. Paulo plays the male lead in Spring in Prague, produced by lawyer Ferdinand Topacio for his own Borracho Films.
The film has started shooting its Philippine scenes in early January. Sara Sandeva, a Czech actress, has been flown in as leading lady in the rom-com with a difference, according to Topacio. Its filming coincides with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Czech Republic.
Atty. Topacio hosted a thanksgiving lunch for media in support of his most recent film, Mamasapano.
Although the film failed to make it among the top earners in the last MMFF, he said he won’t stop producing quality films.
