To grow up with grandparents is a gift and a blessing, and we should treasure these moments as much as we can. Memories of being spoiled, listening to their wisdom, playing and eating together are some of the reasons why we should never take our grandparents for granted.

Grandparents’ Day is fast approaching. It is celebrated every second Sunday of September with the younger generation showering them with gifts and taking them out for lunch or dinner. It is our way of showing gratitude for the time they have been spending with us.

Manila Bulletin joins the nation in honoring our grandparents by inviting everyone to join the essay writing contest with the theme “What Makes My Lolo & Lola Special.” Winners will get to bring home P5,000 worth of The SM Store gift certificates.

Requirements include posting a photo of you with your grandparents in any of your social media accounts and tag @manilabulletin with the hashtag #MBGrandparentsDay2022. Add a title and an essay between 160 to 300 words in English as your caption. Submit your entry as well to Manila Bulletin’s Facebook account and take a screenshot of your entry. Don’t forget to follow all of Manila Bulletin’s social media accounts in Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.

Postings and submissions are ongoing until Sept. 7, 2022.
