Visayan Electric powers Sinulog Festival in Cebu City in January

CEBU CITY – Visayan Electric is powering the Sinulog Festival in January 2023.

Engr. Raul Lucero, president and chief operating officer of Visayan Electric, said the power company will help electrify the area where the Sinulog showdown will be held.

Mayor Michael Rama here has announced that the main venue of next year’s Sinulog will be at the South Road Properties (SRP).

“We are awaiting to be notified by the city on where will they put the stage and the bleachers so we can determine where to put the electric poles,” said Lucero in a media event spearheaded by the Aboitiz Group on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Although the Sinulog is only three months away, Lucero is confident that Visayan Electric can fully electrify the area in time for the festivities.

He said they see no difficulties in erecting the needed facilities to electrify the area. “It’s an open space so we don’t see any problem when we start putting up the lines and the electric poles,” said Lucero.

Lucero said Visayan Electric will shoulder the venue’s electrification. He added that the Visayan Electric is open to keeping the facilities in the area for future use.
