Rapper Lo Ki drops alternate version of 'Manifest'

Newly minted hit rapper has a knack for turning own songs on its head.

Lo Ki previously did it with an acoustic version of his first big hit “Kagome,” and now he’s changing the pace a bit.

This time he’s rockin’ out on an alternate version of his latest hit “Manifest.”

Originally a straight up Hiphop, trap beat-driven rap track, “Manifest” gets the rock treatment in a new performance music video directed by Louie Ong.

On said video, Lo Ki, sporting dreadlocks, with band in tow, in an industrial setting complete with pyro effects is all throaty and raw as he delivers a rap-rock and moody synth-tinged version of his latest single.

Providing Lo Ki with the groove is the rock and ska band Slowdough.

Local rap music aficionados are partial to Lo Ki’s raw and unpretentious delivery. Which might explain why Lo Ki’s name is fast spreading by word of mouth.

Which is how Lo Ki prefers it as the no-nonsense rapper is all about making tracks and less about posturing.

Delivering it in his gut bucket rap, Lo Ki intones, “Rap game ‘to hindi ‘to ballad / F**k fame I need to be balanced / Ako ay may espiritu ng shaman / Na may kalahating super sayan / Pwede ring maging mathematician / Na may kaunting alam sa science / Mga peke kong kaibigan / ‘Di rin tumagal ay pinalayas.”

To date, “Manifest” has over 12 million plus streams on the popular platforms (Spotify and YouTube) combined and is poised to grow with the release of the new performance video.

Lo Ki’s official music video for “Kagome” has ballooned to over 37 million views on YouTube.

Lo Ki’s other tracks have also surged and this includes “ATBP” and “Munting Paraiso.”
