The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will start printing the ballots for the December 2022 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan polls this week.

The poll body is pushing through with the printing despite moves to postpone the Dec. 5 exercise.
"It will start on Wednesday," Comelec Chairman George Garcia said in an interview Monday, Sept. 19.
"We need to start printing. Otherwise, we may run out of time," he added.
In a separate advisory, the Comelec said, that the printing of official ballots for the Oct. 8, 2022 Ormoc City Plebiscite and the Dec. 5, 2022 BSKE will commence immediately after the finalization of the lay-out of the official ballot as well as the signing of the new Memorandum of Agreement between the poll body and the National Printing Office.
The poll chief reiterated that in the event that the BSKE is postponed, the printed ballots will not go to waste as it can still be used in the next elections.
The same, Garcia said, goes for the other election paraphernalia such as ballpens, ballot boxes and indelible ink.
"The Comelec will just issue a resolution stating that the ballots for 2022 will be the same ballots that we’ll be using in 2023," he said.
The Comelec is set to print more than 91 million ballots for BSKE at the NPO in Quezon City.
