Comelec gets recognition for resolving 100% of complaints, concerns

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) received recognition for acting on grievances and complaints, the 8888 Citizens' Complaint Center (8888 CCC) said.

In a letter addressed to Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia, 8888 CCC stated that the poll body was able to handle and act upon 661 citizens' concerns referred to their office as of Aug. 31, 2022.
"We would like to commend your efforts in ensuring that all citizens' concerns referred to your office are acted upon on time," Bernadette Casinabe. head of 8888 CCC said in the letter.
The 8888 CCC was established to serve as a mechanism where citizens may report their complaints and grievances on acts of red tape, as defined under Republic Act (RA) No. 9485, as amended by RA No. 11032, and/or corruption of any national government agency, government-owned or -controlled corporation, government financial institution, and other instrumentalities of the government.

Casinabe thanked Comelec and stated that they look forward to the continued partnership in the fight against red tape and corruption.
