In a text message, Garcia said that they will reveal the office on Monday, Aug. 22.

Garcia earlier appealed to Congress to give them a budget so they can start the construction of their own building at their 3-hectare property at the Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard in Parañaque City.

The Comelec is currently leasing several facilities, including the 5th, 7th, and 8th floors of the Palacio del Gobernador building.

"We should have our own building because the money we spent for the spaces we are leasing can already build 10 buildings," said Garcia.

Meanwhile, Comelec held a groundbreaking ceremony in a 1,100 square meter lot donated by the local government of Iloilo City for a new building of the Comelec Integrated Office for Region VI.

In a speech, Garcia said that he could not contain his admiration and appreciation for the building construction.

The Comelec Integrated office for Region VI is expected to be completed in two years.
