Nearly three million individuals have applied for voter registration for the December 2022 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan polls.
Data from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) showed a total of 2,936,979 new registrants as of July 23.
These individuals are composed of the following: the
15 to 17 years old with 1,814,907; the 18 to 30 years old with 963,418; and the 31 years old and above with 158,654.
Below is a breakdown of other applications received by the poll body:
•Applications for Transfer from Other Cities/Municipalities: 518,488 (barangay) and 4,474 (SK) •Applications for Transfer from within the same City/Municipality: 146,052 (BGY) and 1,155 (SK) •Applications for Transfer with Reactivation: 20,643 •Applications for Transfer with Reactivation and Correction of Entries: 7,153
•Applications for Transfer with Correction of Entries: 25,683 •Applications for Reactivation: 128,623 •Applications for Reactivation with Correction of Entries: 29,142 •Applications for Change of Names/Correction of Entries: 74,146 •Applications for Inclusion of Record in the Book of Voters: 180 •Applications for Reinstatement of Name in the List of Voters: 45 •Applications for Transfer from Overseas Voting to Local: 7,487 The total number of all applications processed, the Comelec said, is 3,900,250 as of July 23.
Voter registration resumed last July 4 and ended July 23.
