Duterte, Recto discuss problems facing the education sector


Vice President and Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sara Duterte and Batangas 6th District Representative Ralph Recto on Wednesday, July 20, discussed the problems that the education sector is facing.

These include, "reforms needed to improve the quality of education in the country," as per a Facebook post by Recto.

Duterte and Recto also talked about ways how to more effectively equip the students with knowledge and skills needed in the "more competitive" world.

"Maraming salamat po Congressman Ralph sa iyong inisyatiba at malasakit sa ating mga Pilipinong mag-aaral (Thank you so much Congressman Ralph for your initiative and concern to our Filipino students)," said Duterte on her Facebook account.

The meeting was held at the DepEd Central Office.

A DepEd order, signed by Duterte, stated that the school year 2022-2023 will consist of 203 school days and will formally begin on Aug. 22, 2022 and will end on July 7, 2023.

Implementation of full face-to-face classes is set to begin on Nov. 2, 2022.
