Ogie Alcasid signs catalog with Viva

Viva Music Publishing, Inc. the music licensing arm of Viva Music Group, recently struck a deal with singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid.

They are now to manage and curate the singer-songwriter's songs.

These include hits like “Hanggang Ngayon,” “Hindi Magbabago,” “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala,” “Ikaw Lang,” “Kailangan Kita,” “Kung Mawawala Ka,” “Minamahal Kita,” “Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka,” “Sa Yo Lamang,” and “Sa Piling Mo.”

In total, VMPi was assigned 55 of Alcasid’s songs.

Asked what the deal means to him, Ogie answered, “My music is who I am, it’s part of my history, my life and Viva has been a huge, huge part of my career from the very beginning. Boss Vic has been very truthful and I trust him with what he’s going to do with my songs.”

A big plus for Ogie is that it would allow a new generation of music lovers to hear his songs.

“Yun ang thrust namin ni Boss Vic and I’m happy about that.”

Besides Ogie's, Viva Music Publishing, Inc. also previously acquired the rights to the music of Jay Durias, Hotdog, Lolita Carbon, and Rico Blanco.
