Your favorite rainbow iced gem biscuits now come as a cake

What’s that one food that reminds you of your childhood? We bet narrowing it down to just one would be a challenge, especially for the Millennials out there. And among their beloved childhood snacks during the ‘80s and the ‘90s is the colorful and sweet iced gem biscuits. As the name implies, the treat is composed of a tiny biscuit topped with meringue. It, being available in humble sari-sari stores, became a popular snack among kids then, making it today a food that sparks childhood nostalgia.

Today, the iced gem biscuit comes in a cake creation with Max’s Corner Bakery’s latest confectionery offering. Dubbed the Rainbow Gem Cake, this mini dessert is composed of a gem cookie crust, stacked with vibrantly colorful layers of vanilla chiffon filled and frosted with rich buttercream icing. It’s decorated with pastel-colored sprinkles on the outside and gem icing on top that will delight both kids and kids-at-heart.

“Food has always evoked good old memories and this sweet treat will surely give fans that happy nostalgic feeling with each bite,” the brand says.

This five-inch round cake can be purchased for a limited time only for P499 (dine-in). It’s available for dine-in, take-out, and delivery in Luzon stores except Naga and Palawan. Orders can also be made through delivery.maxchicken.com.
