Comelec eyes resumption of voter reg next month

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is eyeing the resumption of the continuing voter registration for the Dec 5, 2022 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan polls next month.

In a statement, Comelec Acting Spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said the tentative or proposed resumption is from July 14 to 30, 2022.

"Subject to the approval of the Commission en banc," he said.

Laudiangco said the projected total number of registered voters for Barangay Elections is 66,053,357.

As for the Sangguniang Kabataan Elections, he said, the projected total number of registered voters is 23,059,227.

"These are mere projections based on historical data for purposes of planning and procurement for the BSKE," said Laudiangco.
