No date yet for special polls in Butig, Binadayan in Lanao Sur
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has yet to set the date as to when the special elections in the municipalities of Butig, and Binadayan in Lanao del Sur will be held.

In a press briefing on Thursday, May 19, Comelec Acting Spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said the Commission en banc will be coming out with a resolution regarding the matter.
"We will just wait," he said.
The poll body on May 11 declared failure of elections in 14 barangays in the municipalities of Butig, Binadayan, and Tubaran in Lanao del Sur.
The Comelec en banc decided to adopt the recommendation of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Regional Election Director Ray Sumalipao to declare failure of polls in said areas involving more than 40 clustered precincts.
Failure of elections was declared in the 12 barangays in Tubaran due to violence, threats and intimidation.
While failure of elections was declared in Ragayan (Butig) and Pindolonan (Binadayan) after the ballots there were either stolen or destroyed.
Earlier, the poll body decided to forego the plan to partially proclaim the winning party-lists in the May 9 polls in view of the special polls in Tubaran which will be held on May 24.
"Tubaran is significant. It is 11,557 (voters). That's how big it is... it will definitely affect. That is why the rest of Butig and Binadayan will be decided upon by the Comelec en banc," said Laudiangco.
