Tomorrow X Together sells 1.24-M copies of 'Minisode 2: Thursday's Child' in one week

K-pop idol group Tomorrow X Together (TXT) sold nearly 1.25 million copies of their new mini-album in one week and topped the chart.

TXT released "Minisode 2: Thursday's Child" on May 9 and according to Korea’s Hanteo Chart, the album garnered 1,248,370 copies in first-week sales from May 9 to 15 to top the weekly chart in the same period.

"Minisode 2: Thursday's Child" sold 918,413 copies on the first day on May 9 followed by 154,441 copies on May 10 for a two-day haul of 1,072,854 copies.

It sold 43,824 copies (first place) on May 11 followed by 35,817 copies (first place) on May 12, 51,643 copies (first place) on May 13, 19,169 copies (first place) on May 14 and 25,063 (first place) on May 15.

TXT’s last album “The Chaos Chapter: Fight or Escape,” a repackaged version released in August 2021, sold 483,911 copies in one week, according to Hanteo Chart.

This is the first time that TXT sold one million copies of one album since their debut three years ago.

After it was released, "Minisode 2: Thursday's Child" reached No. 1 on iTunes Top Albums in 43 countries and regions.

The title track “Good Boy Gone Bad” topped iTunes’ Top Songs chart in 19 countries and regions.

The music video for “Good Boy Gone Bad” has garnered 19.15 million views on YouTube since its release one week ago.

During a press conference, Tomorrow X Together revealed that goals they want to achieve for the album.

“If it’s possible, we hope to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart,” said Taehyun, the Korea Herald reported.

Beomgyu said, “It’s the first album where the members contributed to all the tracks on the list. We really felt that we’ve advanced as an artist.”

“Many people praised our albums on ‘The Chaos Chapter’ series as masterpieces, and we’re very proud of it. This time, the album threads together different elements and genres through the topic of first breakup, and hopefully it could also get a good remark. We hope to prove TXT’s music never disappoints,” said Taehyun.
