We heard of the band first from a friend asking us to listen to their hit "Beggin'."

We didn't like it, promptly telling said friend about it.

But numbers don't lie.

“Beggin’” has since reached streams of over one billion.

Now, we are only too eager to do some research about Maneskin.

An Italian band that gained recognition after their stint in Italy’s version of the "X Factor" back in 2017, Maneskin, composed of vocalist Damiano David, bassist Victoria De Angelis, guitarist Thomas Raggi and drummer Ethan Torchio, is now Europe's biggest ticket.

Again, all because of the song we dismissed. Yes, "Beggin."

Anyway, Maneskin also won the Eurovision Song Contest last year representing Italy with the song “Zitti e buoni” (which means quiet and good and/or shut up and behave).

Now, they have a new single out.

For “Supermodel,” Maneskin travelled to Los Angeles to work with pop guru Max Martin, who is credited as producer of said track.

Twangy rhythm guitars, a surging beat, and the-now-familiar nasal vocals of Damiano propels “Supermodel” forward.

“We wrote (the song) after spending the best few months in LA,” the band shared. “At times we were surprised yet intrigued to find how people cared so much about the idea of ‘celebrity’ and status. Obsessing over the looks and connections.”

The band also added that the song is inspired by “the many characters they met during their time in L.A.”

“We started to imagine an enigmatic Supermodel character. She is really cool, fun and social, yet in reality she is trouble, hiding sadness and addiction. In a way you love her, because she knows how to have a good time, but you also want to avoid her, because she might get you in trouble,” explains the band.

Maneskin will perform “Supermodel” for the first time live today (May 14) at this year's "Eurovision."
