Days before the election, Nay Lolit Solis and I had the chance to talk with Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte in our online show. She was campaigning for re-election. It was my first time to meet her, but Nay Lolit would always say good things about her every now and then. (love na love daw nya, with or without harbat!) That’s why I was confident the interview would really go smoothly. (unless chinacharot lang ako ni Nay Lolit!)

I grew up in Quezon City. We still have a place there. I have several hosting assignments in the area. (every Tuesday nagkikita kami dyan ni Nay Lolit!) I have friends who support her since she started her first term. I even congratulated her  because I would see her posters in residential areas. Apparently, residents volunteered to put her campaign materials on their gates and fences. (kasi kung napilitan lang, matagal na yung nashongal!)

Mayor Joy projected this cool image in our show. I even had to bring up the controversial video of actress Ai Ai Delas Alas who was obviously making fun of her. (kaya inokray to death ni Nay Lolit si Ai Ai!) She admitted that she was aware of the video, but did not bother to watch it. She didn’t even say any word about it. The mayor just wanted to focus on her job and the campaign. (so mukhang si Nay Lolit na lang bahala! Chos!)

We enjoyed how she answered our other questions. She was precise and clear on what she wanted to point out. (walang paliguy-ligoy!) I even joked that she was  ready to show the list of her accomplishments (mukhang may kalakip pang official receipts!)

The exciting part of her guesting, (oo nakapunta kami sa exciting part!) was when she agreed to be with us from intro to extro. (kasi usually ang guest isang segment lang!)  I was even teasing her that she could be our new co-host. (kaso baka may magreact nanaman!) Imagine, she was there while I was delivering my blind items. I thought she would be uncomfortable, but no! She was even guessing the characters in my stories! She just got so shocked when Nay Lolit named one of the actors in the blind item. (di pwede pangalanan yung iba, kasi friend ni mayor!)

Having Mayor Joy in the show was refreshing and having her second term after her guesting is indeed a blessing! She was proclaimed by the Comelec last May 11. (so iclaim namin ni Nay Lolit, kami ang lucky charm! Congratulations!)
