ICYMI: This supermarket launches PH's first smart carts

Last March, Filipino businessman Manny Villar to the Philippines AllDay Supermarket’s smart carts. “This newest innovation is set to elevate the Filipino grocery shopping experience to a global level of convenience and fun,” he said in a social media post.

Think of it as the future of grocery shopping, the smart carts allow shoppers to keep track of what they’re picking in the store by scanning the item’s barcode. It will then record the price of each selected item and present a running total to help customers monitor their purchases as they go on shopping.

According to the supermarket, an Order ID QR Code will be generated once they are done shopping. The QR Code contains the summary of their purchase, which will be scanned for the payment process.

Shoppers can then head to the Self Checkout Counter to pay using their credit card. Customers who prefer to settle their purchase via different modes of payment–cash, GCash, AllEasy, among others–can proceed to the nearest cashier.

AllDay Supermarket’s smart carts are present at its branch in Evia Lifestyle Center in Las Piñas City.
