Comelec releases instructions for LAV voters

If you are among those who availed of local absentee voting, better read this intructions from the Commission on Elections Committee on Local Absentee Voting (CLAV).

The instructions released on Tuesday, April 26, enumerate the step by step process of voting to local absentee voters.

Below are the steps:

1. Fill-up secretly the ballot by writing the names of candidates for President, Vice-President, Senators and Party-List representative of preference;

2. Imprint your right thumbmark on the "ballot coupon" located at the bottom part of the ballot;

3. Detach the coupon from the ballot;

4. Fold and place the accomplished ballot coupon inside the inner envelope;

5. Seal inner envelope with a paper seal;

6. Place the sealed inner envelope together with the detached coupon inside the outer envelope;

7. Seal outer envelope with a paper seal;

8. Write your name and affix your signature on the spaces provided for in the outer envelope;

9. Put envelope inside ballot box;

10. Sign proper space on the List of Approved Applicants for Local Absentee Voting with Minutes of Voting.

The Comelec set the local absentee voting period from April 27 to 29, 2022.

A total of 84,357 registered voters have been approved for LAV, based on Comelec data.
