Antipolo City cited for Covid-19 economic recovery initiatives, programs

The Antipolo City local government on Tuesday, April 19, was recognized by the Department of Finance (DOF) for its excellent Covid-19 economic recovery practices for its residents and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) adversely affected by the pandemic.

Antipolo City Mayor Andeng Ynares received the award of Best Local Fiscal Management Practice in the area of Recovery Initiative to Help Rebuild the Economy from the DOF.

Unti-unting nakabangon ang ating mga local businesses at MSMEs sa tulong ng ating best practices in Local Treasury and/or Assessment Services (The DOF has given due recognition to Antipolo for its best practices in reviving its economy due to the pandemic. Our local businesses and MSMEs are now slowly recovering from the pandemic with the help of our best practices in Local Treasury and/or Assessment Services)," Ynares said.

The mayor also enumerated the city's best practices to help businesses such as the exemption from business taxes, fees, and charges of establishments that do not earn more that P200,000 in gross income, and the Good Samaritan Discount which grants a 50 percent discount on business tax of businesses that converted their establishments into isolation facilities or testing centers.

Ynares added that Antipolo was also recognized by the DOF in 2019 as No. 1 among all cities in the country in the 2019 Year-on-Year Growth in Local Sourced Revenues.

We can say that the Antipolo City LGU is a role model in terms of projects and programs that give hope to our economy and to small and medium enterprises despite the pandemic)," she said.

On Nov. 22, the LGU announced that it gave a discount to residents who paid in advance their Real Property Tax (RPT) for 2022 to help them amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The LGU said that those who settled their RPT on or before March 30, 2022 got a 10 percent discount.

The city government also said it has an Online Real Property Tax Payment System for the safety and convenience of taxpayers. Residents may pay using PayMaya and create an account by visiting the link: https://antipoloonline.egapsonline.com

We are continuously innovating and developing ways to make your government transactions at the city hall more convenient. We are urging everyone to use our online services so that your transactions will just be one click away),” the LGU said.

All the programs services and best practices, including our fight to defeat the pandemic, is being done thanks to you and your taxes. We are assuring everyone that we will continue to improve our services for the benefit of our citizens and the next generation of Antipolenyos),” it added.
