A petition for disqualification has been filed against Rose Nono Lin before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Tuesday, April 19.

The petition was filed by Timoteo Salaguste against the Quezon City congressional candidate.
In his petition, the petitioner accused Lin of conducting "massive, widespread, and rampant vote-buying operations in Novaliches, Quezon City with impunity."
"The responsibility to stop these crimes, which tarnish and diminish the integrity of the democratic process, rests with every Filipino. Hence, this petition for disqualification," the petition read.
The petition cited that even before the filing of Certificate of Candidacy and beyond March 25, 2022, when the official local campaign period started, "Respondent Lin, together with her barangay coordinators and co conspirators, undertook a concerted and coordinated scheme to buy votes of tens of thousands of Novaleños."
"Even now, the vote-buying scheme continues in one of the many headquarters, houses, and online," it said.
The petitioner said there is substantial evidence to support the disqualification of Respondent Lin based on Section 68 of Omnibus Election Code.
"There is substantial evidence to support a finding that Respondent Lin have given money or other material consideration to influence, induce or corrupt the voters or public officials performing electoral functions," read the petition.
"The attached annexes would show that Respondent Lin has given money and other material consideration to induce or corrupt voters. Indeed, the acts of Respondent Lin and her co-conspirators and accomplices, they committed the following crimes and election offenses: (1) Vote-buying, penalized under Batas Pambansa Blg. 881 or the Omnibus Election Code, and (2) Conspiracy to bribe voters, penalized under B.P. Blg. 881," it further read.
"Wherefore, premises considered, Petitioner respectfully prays that Respondent Lin that this Petition for Disqualification be granted and that Respondent Lin be disqualified," read the petition.
