Miado looks to knock out Adiwang

Filipino fighter Jeremy Miado is looking for an early finish against compatriot Lito Adiwang when they clash in the Circle in ONE: X, ONE Championship's 10th-year anniversary, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium Saturday, March 26.

Miado, known for his striking prowess, is confident that he could level Adiwang's aggressiveness and bared that they have also prepared to counter the Team Lakay fighter's wrestling.

"Kung baga, overall pinaghandaan talaga namin," said Miado. "Bilang fighter, goal po natin ma-KO (knock out) o ma-submit, looking for a finish.

“Pero sa akin po kusang darating naman po 'yon kung ma-timing or kung tumama nang proper so makikita na lang po natin. Pero siyempre gameplan ay KO po."

After a two-year hiatus, Miado returned to action and repeated over Chinese foe Miao Li Tao with a second-round technical knockout in October 2021.

His second win settled the record straight and proved that his explosive flying knee in their first meeting last November 2019 wasn't a fluke at all.

Thanks to Thailand-based stable Marrok Force and the Zamboanga siblings Denice and Drex, Miado, who has a 10-4 record, found a renewed purpose in his ONE Championship comeback.

As much as he wanted to face a fighter from other countries, Miado isn't about to underestimate Adiwang of Team Lakay.

"Expected ko na explosive po siya, malakas po siya. Nakita naman po natin sa mga laban niya na sobrang explosive, as in aggressive," said Miado of Adiwang. "May proper gameplan naman po kami para sabayan 'yong ganoong style. Makikita niyo na lang sa laban."

Adiwang, for his part, rose from being a ONE Warrior Series contract winner to becoming a two-time No. 5 strawweight contender.

The Igorot warrior, who has an overall record of 13 wins and four losses, only lost twice since competing in the Singapore-based promotion in October 2018.
