Miado relishes chance to face Adiwang in ONE's 10th year

Jeremy Miado is taking his sweet time to prepare against compatriot Lito Adiwang as both Filipinos are set to clash in ONE: X, ONE Championship's 10th-year anniversary card, next month.

The Miado-Adiwang bout is just one of the nine events in the stacked card to be held on March 26 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

"I'm really surprised to be added to this card because this is not just another big event, this is the 10th year anniversary card for ONE Championship. This means so much for me as an athlete because I will be part of a historic card like this alongside some of the big names here at ONE," said Miado.

This will be the second time that Miado will be facing a fellow Filipino in the Circle since absorbing a split decision loss against Robin Catalan in April 2017.

"I have so much respect for Adiwang, especially as he's a fellow Filipino, but I believe we will give it our all and not take this personally," Miado added, who has a 10-4 record.

Miado last saw action in October 2021 with a repeat win against Chinese foe Miao Li Tao, a victory that boosted his confidence as he tries to remake his name in the strawweight division.

Now in the all-Filipino showdown, Miado is expecting an all-out brawl as both fighters have striking as their bread and butter.

And since moving to the Bangkok-based Marrok Force, Miado also gained not only more experience but also advanced training in mixed martial arts.

"Expect the unexpected. We're both explosive strikers and I know that Lito will also do everything to prepare for this match of ours," added the Marrok Force recruit.

Adiwang, for his part, hopes to get back to his winning ways after suffering a second-round submission loss against now No. 2 contender Jarred Brooks last October.

The Team Lakay stalwart currently holds a 13-4 record.
