THRILLMAKER: Heart, Solenn: Top picks to endorse emerging beauty brand

The owner of an emerging beauty brand is keeping an eye on popular celebrity fashionistas Heart Evangelista and Solenn Heussaff to be the future endorsers of her naturally sourced and environment-friendly personal care products.
“Solenn, Heart. Those women. They support local brands, homegrown brands,” said Tyffanie Short, owner of One Earth Organics Beauty, a fast-growing name in the beauty care industry for about a decade now. She adds: “For almost a decade it has only been real people, real users of One Earth Organics who had been our muses or advocates of the brand, but now, I would go with someone who has the heart and would embody the core values of our company.” Other than the two, the brand presently has 2022 Miss Universe Philippines Charity, Pauline Amelinckx, as celebrity product believer.
While principally described as an emerging name in the beauty care business, One Earth Organics is not really a new entrant to its industry. In fact, it has been operating for about a decade and has already occupied shelf spaces in some of the country’s most popular retail chains, including Watson’s. In an intimate appointment with some select members of the press recently, entrepreneur Short shared the melodramatic story behind the brand’s “re-emergence.”

“This started more than 10 years ago, from a small capital of P37,500. I’ve been a single mom for 21 years, so it all really came from a single income household. I really just wanted to give my son a brighter future,” she started.
“From selling online, doing bazaars, it’s been one of my dreams to make our products available in retail chains. After some years, we finally got to partner with Watson’s and other retail shops and reached more than 90 branches. But of course, the pandemic happened. Just for me doing this interview is already a blessing,” Tyff shared, recalling just how difficult it was to see her business prospects dim. The pandemic eventually left the company with only a three-man team trying to sustain what was left of it.
“It took so much from me and the team to recover. If ever there’s someone who’s gonna cause me pain, I will never ever wish for them to suffer what I’ve been through because it was really most difficult,” she almost tearfully recounted.
With COVID-19 now beginning to reach its endemicity and with the economy now opening up, the brave businesswoman admits her comeback story is now getting more and more real: “We were only able to come back this year, July of this year. I could not have done it without the support of the people I love, everyone, my son, the whole team, all the employees. We’re now back to 23 employees plus almost 90 others.”

While still making sure that the comeback is completely turned into a full success story, Short is planning to expand her business line to include products for “the other members of the household.”
“Some of our soaps can already be used by men. The wives, the girlfriends encourage their other halves to use our products. Next year, we will be focusing on developing new products and the men's line and baby line will be included in the innovative products of One Earth Organics,” she revealed.
Asked to identify the biggest lesson he has learned from her company’s roller coaster journey, she shared: “Keep the faith. Sometimes you feel like it’s impossible but continue to believe in yourself and just keep the faith.”
