Rep. Oaminal made the assurance in a Facebook live post on Monday night, Dec. 26.

He said aside from the food packs and drinking water that have been prepositioned by the provincial government, several private groups have also donated such food packs.

The congressman said that on Monday alone, at least 6,000 food packs were readied for distribution to the different evacuation centers in the second district.

Meanwhile some 3,000 food packs were set aside for the first district.

Rep. Oaminal’s father is Governor Henry Oaminal.

The younger Oaminal said that for now, they plan to use whatever assistance they can get from the national government for the rehabilitation of the areas stricken by floods, which took place on Chirstmas day.

He said it was a "blessing in disguise" that the rains and floods occurred on Christmas, since the people were still awake, thus making it easier for them to be evacuated.
