Originated in Hong Kong in 1940s, Honolulu Cafe has 80 years of heritage and tradition in serving authentic Chinese meals and western pastries, making it a cafe where east meets west in delight.

Some of the cafe's must-tries are freshly baked egg tarts and bo lo buns. For the buns, foodies have the option to choose between plain or with fillings like barbecue pork or butter.  If you’re into street food, the curry fish balls and deep fried squid with salt and black pepper are something you shouldn’t miss. 

Honolulu Cafe also specializes in dishes and meals that are perfect with rice. Satisfy your taste buds with the savory sauce of beef or chicken brisket, and beef or chicken curry. These savory meals are among the cafe's bestsellers as well.

Complete your mouth-watering Hong Kong food journey with Honolulu Cafe's signature drinks such as Hong Kong style tea and coffee. If you're in the mood for both, the Yuan Yang—a combination of tea and coffee but made sweeter with condensed milk—is a must-try. Other menu highlight includes ice red bean with milk. This drink is filled with sweet read bean, fresh milk, and ice. It’s like a dessert and drink in one.

On top of all of these, Manila Bulletin Lifestyle discovers exclusive dishes only to be found at the newly-opened Honolulu Cafe Greenbelt 5 branch in Makati City.

“For roasts, SM Aura and Greenbelt 5 have pork belly barbecue with its in-house Hong Kong roast marination and sauces, aside from the traditional pork barbecue served in our Rob Manila branch,” the brand tells. “Other new items such as sizzling items, new Hong Kong modern sandwiches, milk lava french toast, and volcano chicken baked bun with cheese sauce are only available at SM Aura and Greenbelt 5 outlets.” 

You also don’t have to worry if you want to enjoy all of these with your friends and loved ones. The Greenbelt 5 branch has a mid-size function room, semi- and full-booth seats at its dining area. The Hong Kong-style ambiance is made more affluent with interiors and graphic designs inspired from its first shop in Hong Kong. 

As of writing, Honolulu Cafe now has three branches located at Greenbelt 5, SM Aura Premier, and Robinson’s Place Manila. 'Tis the season to treat yourself to the delicious flavors of Hong Kong!
