Eight farmers rescued from overflowing river in Apayao

PUDTOL, Apayao -- Eight farmers who were trapped in the rising water of a river here were rescued by joint members of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRM) on Dec. 6.

The Pudtol Municipal Police Station (MPS) said the farmers went to their farms in Brgy. Alem to harvest vegetables but were trapped in the Malunog river as the water level rose due to continuous rain.

The Pudtol MPS received a call from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRM) about eight farmers who were stranded in Purok 2, Barangay Alem.

The joint forces of Pudtol MPS, Pudtol MDRRMC, and Bureau of Fire Protection immediately took action to rescue the stranded farmers.
