K-pop artist Dawn says HyunA 'has a special place in my heart' following their breakup
Dawn, the former member of K-pop boy band Pentagon, said that despite their breakup, HyunA will always be special to him.
On Nov. 30, HyunA shocked fans when she announced that she and Dawn broke up, ending a six-year relationship that started in 2016 but was publicly announced in 2018.

"We broke up. We've decided to remain as friends/co-workers from this day forward. Thank you for the love and support you've given us up to now," HyunA posted on Instagram on Nov. 30, SBS News reported.
Following the announcement, rumors and false statements spread online. One particular fake post attributed to him stated that HyunA cheated on him, had a child and abortion.
An incensed Dawn took to Instagram to denounce the fake post and say that HyunA will always be special for him.
“I'll keep it brief. I didn't write the post in the second image, and I will sue the pathetic coward who spread such false rumors,” he said, according to SBS News.
He added, “Even if we have broken up, she still has a special place in my heart, and she is the most loyal and coolest person that I know. She will forever be the artist that I love the most. Please don't live like this, and put your precious time on something better.”
In August 2018, HyunA and Dawn publicly told Yonhap News that they had been going out for two years.
"We know this would result in some kind of labeling, but we thought it would be hard to look straight into the eyes of our fans (without being honest). So we decided to be honest with our loving and supporting fans and come to the stage with confidence,” they said.
Their relationship caused a rift between them and Cube Entertainment, their agency. This led to the termination of their contracts with the company in 2018. They joined P Nation in January 2019.
