American actor Kevin Conroy, best known as the voice behind DC Comics’ superhero Batman in various media, died November 10, 2022 due to complications of Cancer. He was 66.
DC Comics fans took to social media to express their sadness at the passing of the iconic voice actor.
“I usually don’t find myself posting stuff like this. But this is different," said Facebook user Ethan Hart. “Finding out about the passing of Kevin Conroy really saddens me. To say this man was my childhood would be an understatement. He voiced Batman for multiple generations. From animated series and films to video games. He was Batman. RIP Kevin Conroy.”
“Rest in paradise Legend! It’s a sad day for all of us Batman fans,” wrote one Eric Eddie Aviles on Facebook.

IG user dcgramm also posted, “Thank you, rest in peace to the GOAT Kevin Conroy. Still sad we won’t hear his amazing voice again.” Said IG account also wrote, “The best to ever do it. RIP, condolences to his family and friends.”
Fans posted their photos with Conroy from Comic Convention events, signed merchandise, fan made art and even took photos of their Batman action figures in poses that depicted their respect for Conroy.
Conroy started giving voice to the Batman character via the 1990’s Warner Bros. TV series "Batman: The Animated Series."
Conroy also gave voice to The Batman on the popular early aughts series "Justice League" and "Justice League Unlimited," multiple animated films under the DC Universe Animated Original Movies as well as hit video game iterations of the character in "Batman: Arkham" and "Injustice."
