Officers from the Philippine Association of Civil Registrars-National Directorate (PACR-ND) made a commitment through its nationwide membership to provide on a monthly basis, a certified list of persons who died during the previous month to solve the issue of deceased voters still on the voter's list.

In a statement provided by Comelec Acting Spokesperson John Rex C. Laudiangco late Wednesday, Oct. 5, he said that the Commission on Elections (Comelec) En Banc, after its regular meeting, met with the officers of PACR-ND to solve the issue of the deceased voters remaining in the voter’s list.
This was on account of the failure of some City/Municipal Civil Registrars to timely provide Comelec with information on deceased residents per Section 29 of RA No. 8189.
Laudiangco mentioned that during the said meeting, the PACR-ND committed through its nationwide membership, full compliance to the aforementioned law by providing on a monthly basis a certified list of persons who died during the previous month to the Election Officer of the place where the deceased are registered, at no cost to the poll body, and through a more accessible computer application/program accessible to all authorized users coming both from PACR-ND and the COMELEC.
He added that this agreement solved the impasse with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) requiring the payment of P5.00 imposed on the Comelec per request of certification per deceased person.
"The modality by which these data will be shared by the PACR-ND with the Comelec is now being thoroughly studied by a joint task force from the Comelec created by the Chairman for the purpose, to ensure cybersecurity, and compliance not just with election and registration laws, but on Data Privacy laws and rules as well," he explained.
