Flag carrier Philippine Airlines announced Wednesday, Oct. 26, that direct flights to Baguio from Cebu and vice versa will start on Friday, Dec. 16.
In a Facebook post, PAL said Cebu-Baguio-Cebu flights will operate four times a week.
It said flight PR2230 will depart the Mactan-Cebu International Airport every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 8:50 a.m. and arrive at Baguio Loakan Airport at 10:50 a.m.
On the other hand, the return flight to Cebu, PR2231, every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, will depart Baguio at 11:10 a.m. and arrive at 1 p.m.
PAL started as an airline on March 15, 1941 with Baguio as initial destination.
Ground work for the return of the service started in the past few months when the city and national government, along with PAL, inspected the Loakan Airport.
There had been no commercial flights at Loakan for more than 10 years.
