Time for long-term solutions to food security issues--Daza
Senior Deputy Minority Leader and Northern Samar 1st district Rep. Paul Daza is batting for the institutionalization of long-term solutions toward agricultural self-sustainability instead of relying on stop-gaps for food security issues.

This, after the Department of Agriculture-Sugar Regulatory Administration (DA-SRA) recently implemented the sale of affordable sugar at P70 per kilo to consumers at certain places.
Daza pointed out that while the DA-SRA is “commendable” for its course of action, he reminded the public that the measure “a mere stop-gap on a larger issue: our agricultural sector’s self-sustainability".
Long-term solutions, he said, would ensure that Filipinos are less vulnerable “against global crises or the movement of the dollar.”
Daza said House members can take up the challenge at their own respective districts or sectors.
In the first district of Northern Samar, which he represents, there's already an investment of more than P100 million on the likes of farm to market roads and irrigation projects.
“As representatives of the people, we are called to be the architects and stewards of our own agricultural capabilities,” Daza said.
“Let’s work together to secure a sweeter future for Filipino farmers and families," added the House leader.
