Almost a thousand persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the Leyte Regional Prison (LRP) in Abuyog, Leyte have received their booster shots against Covid-19, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said on Friday, Oct. 14.
“The activity was made successful through the joint efforts of LRP medical personnel and assisted by the local government unit’s (LGU) vaccination team of Abuyog,” BuCor said.
It said the Covid booster shots were provided by the Department of Health (DOH) Eastern Visayas.
“The LRP Acting Superintendent C/CInsp. Pabllito A. Jacinto, through the guidance of BuCor Director General Gerald Q. Bantag, prioritizes the health of the PDLs and continuously supports the government’s program to stop the pandemic,” it said.
“For the record, starting September 2021 up to the present, 95.99 percent of the total PDL population are fully-vaccinated while 75.53 percent have received their booster shots,” it also said.
