Manap K. Mamaluba, a former aide of slain terrorist Bassit Usman, has surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

In a statement, the NBI said that Mamaluba, a former combatant of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighter (BIFF), surrendered last Sept. 21.

“On September 21, 2022, Subject Mamaluba formally surrendered to the NBI-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (NBI-BARMM) in the presence of the municipal mayor and officials of the Municipality of Datu Abdullah Sangki (DAS) and its Chief of Police,” the NBI said.

“The Subject also surrendered his firearm to the NBI,” it said. The firearm has been turned over to the NBI-Firearms Investigation and Laboratory Division for ballistic examination, it also said.

The NBI said that Mamaluba’s surrender was made possible through his uncle who was only identified as Commander Tiger of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

Usman died in 2015 during an encounter with the MILF in Guindulungan, Maguindanao, it said.
