Remulla leads PH's delegation to UNHRC’s 51st dialogues, bilateral meetings in Geneva

Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin C. Remulla leads the Philippines’ delegation to the 51st United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) Enhance Interactive Dialogue and Bilateral Meetings and to the State’s Constructive Dialogue/Revalida with the Human Rights Committee on the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

In a statement, the DOJ said that Secretary Remulla and his group left over the weekend for Geneva, Switzerland to attend the events set Oct. 4 to 14.

The DOJ said that aside from Remulla, the delegation is composed of DOJ Undersecretaries Jesse Hermogenes T. Andres and Raul T. Vasquez, Administrative Order 35 Secretariat Head Gino Paulo S. Santiago, Officer-in-Charge Senior Deputy State Prosecutor Hazel Decena-Valdez, and officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

“Based on his itinerary, Secretary Remulla will either meet with Acting High Commissioner Nada Al Nashaif or incoming High Commissioner Volker Turk,” the DOJ said.

“He is also set to meet with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Mr. Filippo Grandi and International Committee of the Red Cross Vice-President Gilles Carbonnier,” it said.

While in Geneva, the DOJ also said that “the Philippine Mission in Geneva will host an official dinner in honor of the Secretary with the HRC President Federico Villegas and select ambassadors.”
