Pop-rock favorites Paramore return with their first new track in five years.
Titled "This Is Why," it is also the title track of their upcoming album set for release early next year.
The new album, under Atlantic Records, has ten tracks and is produced by the band with long-time collaborator Carlos de la Garza.
It will be the band’s sixth album and their first set of new material in five years.
Also out is the music video for "This Is Why."

Directed by Brendan Yates (from the band Turnstile), it features the band, vocalist Hayley Williams, drummer Zac Farro and guitarist Taylor York.
“This Is Why” is an exciting return for Paramore.
It is described as "an anthem for the fears and furies of the pandemic era.”
Hayley mentioned in an interview that the new single “was the very last song we wrote for the album.”
“To be honest, I was so tired of writing lyrics but Taylor convinced Zac and I both that we should work on this last idea. What came out of it was the title track for the whole album. It summarizes the plethora of ridiculous emotions, the rollercoaster of being alive in 2022, having survived even just the last 3 or 4 years. You’d think after a global pandemic of f**king biblical proportions and the impending doom of a dying planet, that humans would have found it deep within themselves to be kinder or more empathetic or something,” the singer said.
The same week the single “This Is Why” was released, Hayley and Taylor also announced that they are dating.
Fans have long speculated that something was going on with the two.
The pair worked closely on Hayley’s solo music project in 2020.
Even before, Hayley was already writing songs for Taylor, in particular, the 2009 Paramore song “Hate To See Your Heart Break.”
They have been band mates since 2007.
