Where it used to be taboo, pulling off scenes of nudity in local films is now becoming customary, matter of fact.

A number of actors and actresses have come out in public interviews saying they’re not against it. Men do it, and so do women, who have found the newest platform for such experimentation through Vivamax, Viva Entertainment’s online streaming app. The channel is getting known as an adult-movie, no holds barred, free-from-censorship site.

A cursory look at Vivamax’s filmography reveals its highly sexual orientation with titles like Taya, The Housemaid, House Tour, Sisid, Resbak, Siklo, My Husband, My Lover pulling in viewers.

The channel is now also home to a fresh, new batch of up and coming actors, who are being built up with sexy images around them. We have met many of them in Viva’s media conferences, where they all expressed confidence in what they’re doing, nude and lovemaking scenes included.

The goal, of course, is to graduate as dramatic actors, which is ideal and not bad at all.

A case in point is young actor Vince Rillon, who is being launched as lead in the sexy action-thriller, Siklo, by Roman Perez, Jr. The film drops on Vivamax on Jan. 10.

In a recent mediacon, the 23-year-old was asked if he was ready for a frontal nude shot in the tradition of Benedict Cumberbatch in The Power of the Dog.

“Full frontal? That’s never an issue for me,’’ Rillon answered.

He added that he’s willing and able to pull off scenes of nudity as he puts his trust on his director.

A protégé of internationally acclaimed filmmaker Brillante Mendoza, Vince has actually shot a full-frontal nude scene for his other film, Sisid, by Brillante.

It helps, Vince says, if he trusts his director, “but if they really think such a scene will help the movie, I’m willing to go all-out.’’

Rillon’s boldness with conviction is matched only by the adventurous spirit of his Siklo co-star Christine Bermas, who has no qualms either about nudity and engaging in sexy hot scenes.

Siklo, a sexy-action-thriller, is the story of a delivery rider (Vince) who falls into a forbidden affair with his customer (Christine), who happens to be the mistress of a religious pastor (Joko Diaz).

The pastor uses his platform and followers for money laundering.

Siklo also features daring performances from Ayanna Misola of Pornstar 2 and Rob Guinto.

Vince Rillon was only 14 when he was spotted by Brillante during an event where the boy’s brothers served as catering staff. He was eventually groomed to act, playing a role in his first film, Captive (2012), where he had some scenes with legendary French actress, Isabelle Huppert.

Rillon didn’t seem fazed acting opposite Ms. Huppert despite his lack of experience.

”I just behaved naturally, that’s what Direk told me.’’

That initial screen outing was followed by more roles in other Brillante films as Amo, Ma’Rosa, Mindanao, Gensan Punch.

Rillon is being groomed by Brillante as an actor of character, versatile in his craft. He will be seen in the first half of 2022 in at least seven movies, including Sisid, Pula, Bigwas, Iskandalo, L, and one more that’s prison-inspired.
